Obituary

Frank "Hunter" Gillam

Feb 17, 1988 -

Mar 20, 2024

Hunter Gillam – wonderful son, loving brother, priceless twin, fun uncle – passed away on March 20, 2024.

Born and raised in Anchorage, Alaska, Hunter attended Dimond High School and Southern Methodist University.

Hunter enjoyed many outdoor activities available in Alaska. He perfected an amazing fly cast, the first in his family to land a giant 50" pike on a fly rod. He rode Jet Skis and snowmachines, shot skeet, smoked cigars and beat Ted Stevens at poker. He was a globally ranked e-sport champion. He was an active investor in venture capital and natural resources. He traveled the world, visiting Europe, Japan, Puerto Rico, Africa and Australia. Fascinated with outer space, he attended the last NASA space launch.

Hunter had a big, kind heart and loved a good joke. He wrote and delivered with humor a memorable best man's speech for his brother's wedding. He and his brother stood in for their deceased father at his twin sister's wedding. He was a loyal friend, a thoughtful host and a patient teacher. Hunter loved his family, his friends and his pets.

Hunter was predeceased by his father, Robert B. Gillam. He is survived by his mother, Mary Lou Gillam; brother, Clark Gillam (Katie) and niece Ella; twin sister, Roxanne Krogh (Arne); brother, Rob Gillam (Stacia) and nephews Benjamin and Nicholas; sister, Vicki Norris (Trevor) and nephews Nash and Brock; and aunts, Linda Black and Kathy Wagner.

To honor Hunter's wishes, his remains will be launched at a future date to an extraterrestrial destination.

Hunter, your wings were ready, but our hearts were not. Rest in peace, H.

Funeral Service will be held at Janssen's Evergreen Memorial Chapel on Thursday, March 28, 2024, from 12-2 p.m.
